ENDING POVERTY [ One Woman At a Time ]
Can you imagine? If you and 15 of your friends buy a shirt, Karla gets the loan she needs to start her business and change the trajectory of her family forever. It really is that simple. You buy shirts, and we work with our lending-partner Adelante Foundation to fund microloans. Together, we end poverty one beautiful family at a time.
You might never actually meet Karla, but the threads on your back will forever connect you to her story. Not impressed? How about the fact that when Karla repays her loan, the same money will then fund another woman, and another. You ask, "how much of the price of the shirt goes to microloans?" Well, ironically the answer is more than 100%. In three years, your initial $25 investment will be lent out 6 times, for a total investment of $150. Not too shabby huh?
Then what? Well, this is the second really exciting part! We recognize that while microfinance has incredible power and reach, it isn’t the only solution, and it doesn’t reach everybody. So once the original $25 comes back to MyFight after being lent 6 times, it can be used to buy more shirts, expand outreach, and invest in the next phase of eliminating poverty. Our method is entirely self-sustaining and system changing.
